The new series of screw type terminal blocks Rx04 reflect an innovative development at RIA CONNECT. The product is available in centerline 3.50 mm; the wire entry is at a right angle to the plug direction. This series allows cable termination from any direction. When using horizontal headers the wires can be entered to the terminal body from the front and from the back; or from above and from the bottom when using vertical headers. The technical basis for this feature is the way to combine the isolating housing and the cover (mating face geometry). This cover can be mounted in a 0 degree or a 180 degree position. Thus it is no longer necessary to design two separate terminal blocks for this feature as it was in the past. This feature not only allows to represent the mating face geometries known up to date for contacting (series RP04) but also to assure compatibility to other market standards (series RW04). If a customer for example realizes during a current series that the wire feeding from a different mating direction would be more convenient he can just change the product variant. Also, the series include product variants with mounting flanges to get a protection against unintentional removal of the terminal block. Last but not least coding pins are available to avoid wrong connections. The coding pad has a special role: it is inserted in that coding chamber of the header that should not accept a housing pole with coding tap. Thus this pole of the header is blocked for the pole of the terminal block and mating the two in the wrong way is prevented in an easy but effective way.

Of course header series PR04 (for standard mating face geometries) and PW06 (for alternative mating face geometries) are available to match the screw type terminal block series Rx04 and they too, are designed to accept mounting flanges and coding. To comply with the market trend the headers are designed for through hole reflow processes and are also available with tape on reel packaging to meet automation requirements; they are suitable for automatic assembly by all current vacuum pipettes. Variants are horizontal and vertical styles and products with open or closed ends (and thus allow for side-by-side mounting without loosing a contact).

Both series are available in block assembly with 2 to 24 poles.
